Advertised as a guide to PvP, Warcraft Ultimate’s true beauty lies in its unique focus on building the ultimate WoW character.

It is basically a very detailed 318 page PDF file to guide one through character buliding. All of the 9 different classes are discussed in depth via 9 different chapters. The file includes an additional 10^th chapter consisting of “races and their small differences”.

I found the book to be more useful in building an ultimate raiding character for PvE, as opposed to a PvP character.

I’m the first person to admit, that while I played a lot, basically since the games inception, I never really ‘got’ the finer points of character development. Sure, I was advanced beyond the basics, but I was always left feeling like other players somehow knew things I didn’t. No matter what class I played, I never felt like I was reaching the top echelon of players. It was frustrating. That all changed after reading Warcraft Ultimate Guide.

We couldn’t resist the opportunity to install 2 VR3 gaming seats in our demonstration facilities, and over a period of two months we had a great time! This ‘gaming revolution’ isn’t just another gaming chair, or gaming rocker - its the high end of gaming systems for the ultimate experience, combining playability and realism. This is a step change from the focus on graphics, to experience.

To really test the system, we installed the Logitech G25 steering wheel which delivers the ultimate in force feedback, and if you combine that with a good set of speakers to deliver the bass, then you have the ultimate machine. As far a price goes, the VR3 list price is expensive - but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. overall we woudl give VisionRacer the title of best gaming seat, with fanatec a close second. We installed a Samsung 24″ with HDMI - and the screen and visuals matched well with the steering wheel and Logitech speakers. You can go for cheaper screens and speakers, although if you are investing in the VR3 Rig - the price increase is nominal. To get the most out of the system don’t for less than a 24″ LCD Screen and some reasonably priced speakers to get the desired effect - otherwise you’ll be devaluing the investment. It’s times like this where professional consultancy and installation has to be considered to get the most out of the system. At Gaming Seat we can provide home installation, supply and support if required. After playing for hours on end we found that we weren’t suffering from stiff joints or otherwise. The gaming seat in the VisionRacer is the most comfortable one I’ve used that also delivers a real experience. Design design design - thats the recurring theme we find in the Vision Racer gaming seat. Overall, the car seat combined with gear shift control and force feed back gave this gaming seat the thumbs up by everyone who tested it. The VisionRacer is currently under testing in a 3 Screen PC configuration running the G25 steering wheel (which is PC and PS3 Compatible). The steering wheel compatibility is important because hardware on the PC can be upgraded more easily than that of PS3’s - although its your choice at the end of the day. the only negative here, and believe me we are clutching at straws here, was the adjustability of the seat for young children. We are always testing gaming seats and steering wheels, and we recently had the pleasure of playing with products from Fanatec! As you’d expect from a German Company - a solid piece of gaming seat Engineering from a German organisation with links to Porsche!

Wheel Stand

The only problem with Gaming Cockpits/Seats (eg. If you have lots of space available, then VisionRacers & Fanatec CockPits are the thing - if you dont have much room, there are alternatives. The competitive pricing of the wheel stand make this a muct have product… The RennSport started life as a step up from the traditional keyboard/mouse, or joystick. In my experience, PC users were generally keyboard & mouse focussed, whilst console people used joysticks. The Fanatec WheelStand challenges the gaming seat environment, making use of your sofa and delivers a great gaming experience. The wheelstand is close to the final evolution of the gaming console, only just behind the gaming seats from VisionRacer and Fanatec. The next stage in the evolution would be a cockpit/gaming seat - although we’ll cover that in another article.

The Fanatec product family are generally solid aluminum frame giving a solid product (as with all German Engineering!) and it does the job well. The product isn’t in the same league as VisionRacer or Cockpit, and the price reflects this. You can connect your XBOX steering wheen, or PS3 to this solid gaming seat - and no need for a table! From experience, we usually sell these for console people, as they are so easy to put away when not in use.

One of the advantages of the RennSport Wheel Stand is that it doesn’t take up much room, and you can use your existing sofa to get something comfortable and enjoyable. Comfort comfort comfort - neat and tidy, and readily accessible pedals make this a real pleasure!

If you haven’t got a spare room for the CockPit or VisionRacer - then you need one of these! Solid design and good aesthetics - the WheelStand is compact for storage, and solid too.

Fanatec CockPit

The CockPit has great adjustment range, it looks impressive, and you can make some adjustments to the monitor height. This is a great product if you have a young family, i.e. a range of different sizes, as the Cockopit can be adjusted for the individual. The sliding keyboard holder is a nice touch too. The gaming seat products benefit from the design pedigree of porsche!

The Cockpit Gaming Seat is the evolution to the WheelStand, and it looks fantastic - and is fantastic, solid design and delivers a great gaming environment. Out of the box the Fanatec Gaming Seat Cockpit supports a 3 monitor configuration, either 3*24″ displays or a single 37″ display. Acoustically, it was a nice touch to see the inbuilt 5.1 design.1 surround sound too. If you are playing games, then you must have a good sound system and appropriate layout of speakers - the cockpit has all this.

Overall the VisionRacer and CockPit are well matched, ones from a German company and one is British - who will win!

There are several ways you can buy a car whether it’s from a retailer or contract hire. The same can be said for games, whether they are realistic or not games are out there so people can have a laugh, on the basis of that, what is the best driving game?

The main one that pops into my head is most certainly not what you would normally expect to see in a driving game. Has to be the most unrealistic driving game on the market ever. it is the awsome Mario Kart. Driving games don’t have to be real to make them good as everyone will know from playing Mario Kart. You have a lot of choice in the characters, karts and bikes you can have in the game. Nothing in all my years of playing games is more satisfying on a driving game than to see someone get blown up by a cartoon bomb or struck by lightening.

Forza 2 is a brilliant driving game on the Xbox 360. This game is brilliant as it not only looks very realistic you can play it online as well as choose every single part of the car from the paint to the engine. You have to stop and make repairs at the pit stop from the realistic damage you get from the crashes you may suffer. The great thing is that it isn’t just brilliant cars; it ranges from the Golf GT to the Lotus Elise. The handling feels like it would when you are driving these fantastic cars as well. For example if you are going to go at 100mph round a corner then yoou have to expect the consequences just as you would in reality.

The Grand Turismo series is another great looking game. These games have always been known for their reality and number five certainly does not steer away from this. Cars such as the Bmw Z4 and Ferrari models are shown as you would see them in reality.

it is exactly true in reality. You can get great cars at quite a low cost. You can get car contracting on pretty much any model nowadays ranging from mini’s right the way to Mercedes contract hire. For prices as little as £279 a month you cant argue that car contract hire is a great way to beat the recession.

Its all about comparison and whilst games have all the cars you could possibly want its just too expensive to buy a brand new car.

Video games became really popular in the eighties, but with the vast increase in broadband infrastructure, gamers have been able to play games online easily for the past decade. On the emotional side of things, video gamesare far more effective than books, songs, and movies for drawing up deep feelings in players. Players are emotionally attached with the characters in Left 4 Dead they have to save each other from the zombie masses. On one hand success can make you pride and on the other hand defeat can be painful. These kinds of emotional investments are totally absent from other forms of media. With so many big game releases like Halo Wars, Killzone 2 and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X already come and gone, there is a huge amount of games yet to be released this year, so I thought this would be an appropriate post. So, that said, here are some of the games that you should be looking forward to throughout the year.

• Residient Evil 5 is the first one really worth mentioning, however, I personally won’t be buying this game, I just find it stupid how you can’t move and shoot or reload and shoot, but that’s just my opinion. I anticipate that when this one comes out on March 13th, it will be a massive hit.
• Crysis: Maximum Edition - This isn’t a new game, but a box set of all the games rolled into one, you get Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars (the multiplayer) and if you haven’t yet played any of them, that will be the perfect box set for you. The game is set for release on March 20th.
• Singstar: Queen - March 20th.
• Aliens Colonial Marines. Not much has been released on this one but I’m hoping for good things, considering the Alien films. Strange release dates for it, March 27th for PC and unconfirmed for PS3 and Xbox 360.
• Batman Arkam Asylum. I hope this is going to be a good game as I am a huge Batman fan. By the looks of the trailer you have to fight your way around Arkam Asylum in very good graphics. It looks like seperate release dates are planned for the 360 and PS3, but I’m not convinced.
• The Godfather 2 - 10/04
• The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. If you coulnd’t put down the first Chronicles of Riddick game, then you should love this one. with voices of Vin Diesel and still with a bit of FPS and hand combat involved, it should be a good game. Set for release on April 24th.
• Fuel - I have only seen a few screenshots for this one, and it looks alot like the PS3 game, Motorstorm. I’m just hopeing that it’s going to be good racing game.
• X Men Origins: Wolverine. We’ll just have to see how good this one is as it is a move game, some are good, some are bad.
• Terminator Salvation - 22/05
• Prototype - A strange one, you play as a genetically modified person who now has super powers, might be good. Set for release in June 2009
• Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction - This game has been in development for a long long time so it really carries alot of expectations but lets hope it will be released when they say this time, June 2009.
• The Sims 3 - Although alot of people play the Sims games, I hate them, simply because I think they have milked it too much. The amount of expansions for the game is insane, but I know people will want to get it, so here it is in the list.
• Ghostbusters - Who ya gonna call? June 19th
• Dirt 2 - 9/09
• Tekken 6 - 25/09
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - This game was only announced recently but it will definitely be a massive hit, with the amount of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s sold and the amount of awards it picked up, this sequel will hopefully be even better.
• Battlefield: Bad Company 2

It looks like a pretty good upcoming year for games. My fingers are crossed that no game publishers or developers end up going bust before those games are released.

You can get into PvP combat in various different settings. Knowing something about the different settings will help you find or avoid combat as you wish, and help you understand what everyone else is talking about! Keep reading for a super-fast introduction to each setting:

Fighting Duels

Duels are voluntary one-on-one battles between players. You don’t have to be on a PvP server to duel, but you can’t duel within cities. You’ll often find players who are looking for a duel hanging around outside the entrances to major cities looking for someone to challenge.

The Battlegrounds

The battlegrounds are areas where Horde and Alliance compete to earn marks. Marks serve as a sort of money that you can trade for various items, including better PvP gear. You can exchange marks for stuff at the special PvP vendor shops.

The Arenas

Arena combat is organized team versus team combat in the form of an ongoing tournament. Teams (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) battle to earn Arena Points. Points are awarded by team, so fighting as part of a team rather than earning individual glory is the goal. When in the Arena, you can encounter teams from your own faction as well as teams from the enemy faction.

Random Combat

Any time you encounter a player from the other faction who has their PvP flag on, you can do battle with them. In PvP realms, that flag is always set, except in a few protected areas, you’re always open to attack. You can manually turn your PvP flag on and off by typing /pvp. Regardless of what you do, various situations and locations will turn your PvP flag on automatically, even if you aren’t playing in a PvP realm.

World PvP

If you visit the Eastern Plaguelands, Silithus, Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, or Nagrand, you will find goals that require PvP combat. If you want to achieve those goals, you had better be ready to fight.

The PvP Zones

Wintergrasp is the first of a new type of zone that is totally dedicated to PvP combat. This zone seems to be real popular, so expect more like it in the future.

You should now have a basic understanding of the different settings where you can find PvP combat. 5. No subscription online gaming for PS3 users. It’s free, it’s fast, it’s online gaming on the PS3.

4. Hi Def Games - I thought Tiger Woods was in my lounge. Quality high def gaming is here to stay with Sony PS3. The difference with HD games is immense, EA and Sony are both producing HD games.

3.Little Big Planet, it’s the game that is converting Xbox users to the PS3.

2. Playstation Live - Now you can record and playback your favourite TV shows via the large storage on your PS3. So if your tipple is Kate Garraway or Penny Smith, then fear not as you can gain hours of footage via your PS3.
